What we collect, and why.

Structured Scale Studio is a small motion studio run by Structured Scale. This page says what happens to information you give us through this site, in plain words.

What you send us

If you use the contact form, we receive what you type into it: your name, your company or brand, a link to your product if you add one, which price you picked if you pick one, what you want made, and your email address. If you email us directly, we receive your message and your address.

We use it to reply to you and, if we work together, to make your film. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share it with anyone for their own use.

When you pay

Payment on this site goes through a checkout page run by Stripe. You give Stripe your card or bank details, your email address and the billing details it asks for; we never see your card number. What you type on the order page (the link to your product, the launch date and your notes) goes to Stripe with the payment and is stored there too.

We keep your name and email address, what you bought, the amount, whether the payment went through, and what you typed on the order page. We do not keep your billing address.

We use it to make what you ordered, to write to you about it, and to keep the records a business has to keep. Stripe's own privacy terms cover what it does with the payment.

Where it is kept

The site is hosted by Netlify, and form messages are stored in our Netlify account and forwarded to our email. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

Orders are kept in our Netlify account and in our Stripe account.

We keep messages for as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of work we agreed. Ask, and we delete them. Order records are kept as business and tax records for as long as the law requires; ask, and we delete anything we are not required to keep.

How we count visits

We measure how the site is used ourselves, on our own Netlify account, so we can see which films and pages work. There are no cookies and nothing is stored on your device to recognise you, and no advertising or tracking company is involved. What your browser tells us while you are here:

• The pages you view, the site or campaign link that brought you, and whether you opened it inside an app such as Instagram or TikTok.
• How long each page is actually on your screen, and how far down you scroll.
• Which buttons and links you click (their words, not anything you type), which questions you open, and which sections, prices and films come into view.
• Where on a page you click or tap: the spot, measured against the part of the page it landed in, so we can see what people try to press. Never what is there or what you type.
• How you watch a film: when it plays, when you turn the sound on, and how far you get.
• How far the contact form gets: which fields are filled in and whether it is sent, never what is written in them.
• How far an order gets: which piece and add-ons are chosen, the total, and whether it reaches payment and is paid, never what is typed.
• How fast the site loads on your device, any error the page runs into, and how the moving background runs.
• Your approximate country and region, device type, browser, operating system, screen width and language.

Your IP address and browser are turned into a code that changes every day, so we can count how many different people visit each day without being able to follow anyone from one day to the next. The address itself is never stored, and the key used to make the day's codes is destroyed after that day. To stop abuse, the sign-in and payment pages also keep a code made from your address with a secret key, for at most two hours, then delete it. We keep these measurements for about 14 months, then delete them.

What this site does not do

• It sets no cookies.
• It runs no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It sells nothing about you, and shares nothing with anyone for their own use.
• It loads nothing from other companies' servers: the fonts, films and images are served from this site.

Links to other sites

Links to Instagram and to structuredscale.com take you to sites with their own privacy terms, and so does Stripe's checkout page when you pay.

Your information

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email gunner@structuredscale.com.
