It is your turn to order, in French, and nothing comes out. Then French in fun, bite-sized lessons on Duolingo's own screens, a three day streak, and back at the same counter the order comes out.

About the film
It opens on Duolingo’s own barista, waiting: “your turn. in French.” and a beat of silence. Then the lessons, played on their real screens by a tap: a word, poisson, the fish; a sentence, too many olives on this pizza; said out loud, and their owl celebrates. The camera pulls back into a row of days, travels to tomorrow’s lesson and on to a three day streak, whose tick grows into the same cafe as the opening. This time the order comes out, “Je voudrais un café, s’il te plaît !”, in Eddy’s voice, whose line it is in their screenshot, and her own celebration follows. Then the whole product: 40+ languages, even chess, math and music, every screen gathering into one ring before their name lands with “learn 40+ languages for free”. Every screen, character and animation is Duolingo’s own, from their App Store listing and press kit; every claim about the app is in Duolingo’s own words.
